The technology program "WIPANO - knowledge and technology transfer through patents and standards" of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) supports universities and non-university research institutions in developing approaches to secure their intellectual property rights and its legal protection and exploitation by involving competent patent licensing agencies.

Please get in touch, if you are interested in working with us. We offer advice and support to your university through all of the services (service packages 1-6) provided by the funding program. Funding is available for the whole process of securing intellectual property rights, from reviewing the idea to commercialization. The funding program is divided into six service packages (LP).

Service packet 1: Consultation and detailed examination regarding novelty of the invention

Service packet 2: Consultation and detailed examination regarding monetary exploitation

Service packet 3: (Strategy) Consultation and coordination regarding the patent application

€ 500,00 initial registration

€ 300,00 a subsequent application

Service packet 4: Patent application (official costs and patent attorney's fees);
New: Funding for trademarks and/or designs, if in connection to application of patent or utility model

35% share financing

Service packet 5: Activities for an exploitation oft he invention per application (first year)€ 1.600
Service packet 6: Portfolio Management per application (2-10 years max.)€ 400 / a

The funding program runs from 01.01.2020 to 31.12.2023. Companies, universities and other publicly financed research institutions are eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted at until 30.06.2023.

All services for which your university would like to request funding, must be carried out by a qualified service provider such as e.g. PROvendis GmbH. Please feel free to contact us without any obligation on your part.
