Property Rights, Patent Law & Patentability Requirements. The invention of new technology is of great importance to science. This is what makes legal protection against unauthorized use by third parties in the form of a patent (national or even international) important.

This webinar offers a brief, general introduction to the major kinds of intellectual property rights and compares them to one another. It then shifts focus to patents and the patenting process.
The requirements an invention must meet in order to be patented is regulated by law. Machines, compounds, and processes can be patented as long as they meet all necessary requirements, with the decisive criteria being novelty, inventive step, technicality, industrial applicability, and reproducibility.

This webinar introduces attendees to these basic requirements of patentability along with the limits of patent protection. It also discusses the basics of the patent application process and how a patent is structured.
