Key considerations for your research/start up projects

09.12.2025
Nr.: W-028

You are in the middle of your doctoral thesis, working on a research project or in a collaboration. Perhaps you have a conference coming up, you are thinking about starting a business, or you are already looking for research funding. And suddenly you may find yourself in the middle of knowledge and technology transfer – or about to be. Take the chance to inform yourself.

Transfer is more than just passing on knowledge – it opens up opportunities for you: third-party funding, industry contacts, reputation, career paths and even the chance to put your research into practice or successfully start a business.

We will show you what transfer means, how it works and why it is relevant and important for you. And the best part? The entire technology transfer process is free of charge for you!

What do you have to do? Not much! We will tell you when and whom you should contact and what we can do for you.

And if you do nothing – or are too late? You will miss out on valuable opportunities and risk potential disadvantages.

Contents

  • What is transfer- and why does it affect you?
  • What opportunities does transfer offer for your research?
  • How does the process work?
  • What are your next steps?
  • How can you get free support?
  • What opportunities are you missing out on without transfer?
  • What are the risks of not participating?
