Our quality policy
PROvendis GmbH was originally founded on 10/24/2001 as a fully-owned subsidiary of Zenit GmbH, a business consultancy partially owned by the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Its headquarters has since been in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Since January 2002, PROvendis GmbH has been working as a service provider for universities in North Rhine-Westphalia and for companies, research facilities, and universities elsewhere. In September 2008, the North Rhine-Westphalia universities became the sole owners of PROvendis GmbH.
The business model consists of selling research-result leveraging and technology transfer services. PROvendis assesses and leverages research results and expertise from universities. To this end, we identify results and expertise and, after evaluating their market potential and securing the intellectual property rights, transfer them to established companies and start-ups in a targeted manner.
Besides generating revenue for universities from leveraged research results, our goals include improving cooperation between science and business and strengthening North Rhine-Westphalia as a place for those pursuits. Our superordinate goal is promoting progress in North Rhine-Westphalia and the competitiveness of universities and companies there with information, consulting, and cooperation.
We meet our customers’ needs for information and consulting with a range of services that is enhanced by excellent training and the continuous upskilling of the members of our interdisciplinary team. To secure the best service quality possible, we sometimes use external sources of expertise.
The work of PROvendis is independent, quality-oriented, and compliant with all legal requirements. Our communications with each other and with our partners is open, constructive, and respectful. Our internal processes are transparent, and our organization and hierarchies are open. Our internal cooperation is trusting and respectful. Such an environment enables staff to remain motivated as they contribute to achieving our joint goals.
To reach these goals, we have to record, describe, document, and continuously improve our processes in the best way possible and make them transparent, familiar, and accessible to everyone involved. We use a quality management system to do this. To assess the quality management system and document PROvendis GmbH efforts to ensure quality, the executive management has decided to pursue certification according to DIN EN ISO9001-2015.
